McDonald’s is a brand for everyone at virtually any time of day, 365 days a year. That’s why it’s always a business-critical goal for McDonald’s to drive guests into the restaurant (Guest Counts). Many guests are good for business but waiting too long to have a quick hamburger is annoying. It leaves dissatisfied customers and stressed employees. So the challenge was to develop a digital tool that uses data and data points intelligently to draw more guests into the restaurant – while ensuring a consistent flow of guests, avoiding long wait times and great pressure on the kitchen during peak periods. Our solution was a new digital gaming platform integrated into the McDonald’s app. The platform allows digital coupons to be issued to the individual user who is logged into the McDonald’s app. At the top of the platform can be any game where there is a probability of winning – and thus get a coupon on a great offer or free product at McDonald’s. The platform has run games such as Big Mac Bingo, Summer Chances, Christmas Calendar and Mood Lottery. The games are evenly distributed throughout the year, thus ensuring McDonald’s a continuous presence. In the back-end of the platform, it is possible to adjust the number of coupons and to determine the winning probability so that the number of winners – and thus the proportion of coupon redemptions – can be kept at a controlled level, no matter how many players there are. The games were launched with a massive campaign across Facebook, Youtube, Admob, Snapchat, and Instagram as well as various internal channels such as push notifications in the app, mcdonalds.dk, POS and instore. Det giver utilfredse kunder og stressede medarbejdere.Derfor var udfordringen: Kan vi udvikle et digitalt værktøj, som bruger data og datapunkter intelligent til at trække flere gæster ind i restauranten – og samtidig sikrer et afstemt flow af gæster, så man undgår lange ventetider og stort pres på køkkenet i peak-perioder, hvor der er fart på?LøsningVores løsning var en ny digital spil-platform, som er integreret i McDonald’s’ app. Platformen gør det muligt at udstede digitale kuponer til den enkelte bruger, som er logget ind i McDonald’s app’en. På toppen af platformen kan ligge et hvilket som helst spil, hvor der er en sandsynlighed for at vinde – og dermed få en kupon på et godt tilbud eller et gratis produkt hos McDonald’s. I løbet af det seneste år har platformen kørt spil som Big Mac Bingo, SommerChancen, Julekalenderen og Humørlotteriet. Spillene er fordelt jævnt henover året og sikrer dermed McDonald’s en løbende tilstedeværelse.I platformens back-end er det muligt at justere på antallet af kuponer, samt at bestemme gevinst-sandsynligheden således at antallet af vindere –
